Dave Atkin, MD

Treasurer

Dr. Dave Atkin is an orthopedic surgeon working at the California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco. He graduated from the University of California, San Diego, summa cum laude, with a degree in Biochemistry, and was awarded the Regents scholarship to University of California, Los Angeles medical school. He completed orthopedic residency training at the University of California, San Francisco. Following his orthopedic training, he served in the Transkei, South Africa, with Health Volunteers Overseas and completed a two-year knee and shoulder fellowship at Kaiser/UCSD. Dr. Atkin has volunteered with Operation Rainbow, an organization that provides free orthopedic care to children worldwide, since 1995. He has served as President of Operation Rainbow since 2004 and has personally led more than 70 surgical missions. Dr. Atkin has been active in surgical education and program development in Armenia since 1999, and actively sponsors Armenian surgeons and health care professionals to observe or train in the United States, Asia, and Europe. In 2021, Dr. Atkin was awarded the prestigious American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons Humanitarian Award for his international and domestic volunteer efforts.
